The Minister of Education and Sports in Uganda, Hon. Janet Kataaha Museveni has appointed Mrs Muzoora Juliet Atuheire as commissioner of secondary education at the Ministry of Education and Sports in a move that has been identified as a great one.
Before this appointment, Muzoora has been working as a Head teacher at Bweranyangi Girls’ School; a church of Uganda founded school in Bushenyi District, Western Uganda. She has replaced Mr. Sam Kuloba who has been holding this position for some time.
The Commissioner of Secondary Education is charged with overseeing the secondary schools from drafting work plans to implementing the same in Government secondary schools with the help of two deputies; Commissioner Government and Commissioner Government Aided secondary schools.
Who is Juliet Muzoora Atuhaire? Brief biograpy
She went to Bweranyangi Girls’ for her secondary education. Then, she later on joined Makerere University where she graduated in 1993 with a BA (Education) degree with English and literature as her teaching subjects.
She joined Makerere again for a Master’s Degree in Education. From there, she taught at Mwongyera Secondary School before her appointment as deputy Head teacher at Kinyasaano Girls in Rukungiri District.
She was later on sent to head Bwongyera Girls’ School from whence she was appointed to head her former school, Bweranyangi Girls’. She is married to Mr. Muzoora Duncan Katakari.
With her rich biography and experience plus her being a committed Christian, Muzoora Juliet Atuhaire joins the ministry with vast experience in the education sector.
