On orders of Governor Ngobila, the demolition works on the building that had collapsed in Gombe has started in high gear.
This building is not far from the SAFRICAS roundabout in the commune of Gombe in the capital Kinshasa. The demolition exercise began on Wednesday, March 20. This started in phases as neighbors were first evacuated from the place for security reasons.
We are further informed that, Aaron Sefu Asbl is the company that is responsible for this demolition work. This building collapsed as a result of shoddy work being done on it and it eventually killed 3 people and injured more.
How the exercise happened
We have learnt that, from 9 a.m. yesterday, Aaron Sefu Asbl workers began with manual demolition by starting from the ground and after then, they will have to employ other methods that are not yet revealed to the press by the engineers in charge of this operation.

It should be remembered that, last Tuesday, governor Gentiny Ngobila, of Kinshasa, ordered that this structure which threatened to collapse be demolished immediatly. But action took long to be initiated and it indeed collapsed hence ordering for an immediate demolition.
What pains a lot is that, the state services are still unable to identify the owner of this building as everyone they mention to be the owner denies it. And the city governor blames the Ministry of Urban Planning for granting building permits.
