One of Western Uganda’s most celebrated and famous radio presenters Tushemerirwe John Kapimpi survived being hacked to death by unknown goons last night. Our sources in Ibanda District where he hails from notified us that Kapimpi was waylaid and attacked by these goons as he entered into his home.
This is located in Kigarama and the incident happened at around 10 pm. This source further told us that these goons jumped out of nowhere and came sprinting towards him holding machetes. They swung into action and started cutting and stabbing him.
According to the photos we have accessed of him, he can be seen with cuts and stitches on his stomach. He is currently admitted at Ibanda Hospital also known as Kagongo Hospital, also located in Ibanda.
“He was attacked at his home in Kigarama as he was entering his house around 10 pm, the machetes came running towards him with anger and cut him seriously as they inserted the long knife in his stomach, the victim is suspecting the goons were hired to finish his life and their intentions are yet to be identified.” this source revealed.
Additionally, this website was informed that Kapimpi John believes the attack was politically motivated. It should be noted that the radio personality vied for the Ibanda District LCV Chairperson job and lost the vote. Which was won by the current chairperson, Happy Herbert Mayanja.

Still, it seems Kapimpi John still harbors political intentions as we gear towards the 2026 general elections. And this time round he is seemingly eyeing a bigger post than last time. It should more be known that, apart from the political talk, Ibanda has recorded many such cases and they have been happening on a daily.
