For the first time ever, Busia District will take centre stage in commemorating Uganda’s independence. Themed “A recommitment to secure and fortify our destiny,” the national event is scheduled for October 9th at the Busiko Teachers’ Training College in Masafu Town Council.

Barbara Oundo Nekesa, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party treasurer, urged locals to embrace this momentous occasion and actively participate in the festivities. Highlighting the significance of Busia hosting the event, Nekesa stressed the opportunity for the people of Busia to showcase their region and benefit from the national spotlight.
