Reliable news coming indicates that a helicopter crash In West Pokot, Kenya, with some of the country’s top military officers including Gen. Francis Ogolla, crashed and claimed all the 11 lives onboard.
Verified reports indicate that the Kenyan Chief of Defence Forces Gen. Francis Ogolla was on board the tragic helicopter and consequently lost his life since there was no survivor declared by the time of this publication.
The accident’s cause is not yet known although there are several rumors that there could have been foul play. That is according to some political analysts and social media observers. The Kenyan government is expected to make an official statement about this matter very soon providing further insight.
“An official communication concerning the Military Aircraft Crash shall be issued soon,” said government spokesperson, Isaac Mwaura in a tweet on X. He asked Kenyans to remain calm and vigilant as establishements are made.
“Let’s stay calm and avoid any speculation whatsoever at this critical juncture,” he added. Gen. Francis Ogolla was the chief military advisor to the President of Kenya William Ruto. He is also the principal military adviser to the President and the National Security Council.
Besides, he is also the most senior military officer in the Kenya Defense Forces. Apparently, he has been serving as the CDF since April 28, 2023. A video is also currently making rounds of William Ruto telling how Gen. Francis Ogolla was one of those people who tried to overturn his presidential victory in 2022.
