Singer A Pass has revealed how legendary and veteran producer Washington conned him of his hard earned Shs 250,000 that was meant to record a song for him. It should be noted that producer Washington was one of the biggest producers in the mid 2000’s.
He jumped on the scene while working with Bebe Cool. He produced some legendary hits for the Gagamel Boss such as the East African Bashment Crew’s Fire Anthem, Fire Burn Dem in which Bebe Cool featured Dizzy Nuts, Peter Miles and Menshan among other songs.
A Pass said that Washington was staying with Goodlyf at Nyanama at the time the incident happened. He said all this at a Creative Arts conference that was held at Next Media Park on 31st May 2024. The conference was attended by various artists. The likes of Eddy Kenzo, Ykee Benda, Nina Roz were panelists.
Furthermore, the conference was aimed at enlightening artists on how to earn from their music and how to do good music distribution. It should be noted that musicians are trying so hard to go digital by fighting to have the copyright law put into play.
Meanwhile A Pass did not get a breakthrough in the music industry not until 2014 with his I’m Loving song. He followed it with his successful Nva Kampala album that had various hits and the rest has been history since then.
