No NIRA shortlist? Well, there is a hidden storm at National Identification and Registration Authority (NIRA) as the candidates that applied for positions like Registration Assistants, Data Processors, Registration officers and others are left in the dark without knowing what NIRA is up to. Recently, there has been a spark of relief after the NIRA boss appeared and asked Ugandans to be patient enough until 1st July 2024 comes, so that the list of shortlisted candidates gets out. But an inside source reveals to us that, this is not true and the dark cloud is still holding NIRA since they say that the procurement of equipment took long.
The source quips to us that, even July will pass without a NIRA shortlist of Registration Assistants, Data Processors candidates. This is attributed to the long system that NIRA is using to determine who to work with in this exercise of National Identity Cards renewal and issuance.
We are reliably informed that, after all districts were done with oral interviews, they all sent the candidates’ names that passed interviews to NIRA headquarters. It was from this that NIRA made temporary shortlist that were sent back to DISOs and GISOs to again scrutinize the candidates.
