DAR es SALAAM: Heavy rains/floods in Tanzania that started from 1st April to currently 14th April 2024 have so far caused floods that have killed more than 58 people. This is according to the government of Tanzania in a report that was released today. Jacob Kiplimo and the Ugandan athletics fraternity breathed a huge sigh of relief after the long-distance runner survived a nasty accident. Jacob Kiplimo was driving his double-cabin vehicle to his home district of Kapchorwa, Easter Uganda. As he had reached Kween district which is also located in the Eastern region of Uganda, the vehicle skidded off a hilly slippery road. Three commercial banks have been authorized by the Bank of Uganda to denominate from a tier I commercial banks operations to tier II credit institution license operations. The three banks according to a statement signed by the deputy governor, Bank of Uganda (BoU), Michael Atingi-Ego are ABC Capital Bank (U) Limited, Guaranty Trust Bank (U) Limited and Opportunity Bank Limited. On orders of Governor Ngobila, the demolition works on the building that had collapsed in Gombe has started in high gear. This building is not far from the SAFRICAS roundabout in the commune of Gombe in the capital Kinshasa. The demolition exercise began on Wednesday, March 20. This started in phases as neighbors were first evacuated from the place for security reasons.
