KAMPALA: Police and Prisons salaries enhanced under the new wage structure for the Financial year 2024–2025 that went into effect this month. The monthly salaries of Commissioner General of Prisons Johnson Byabashaija, Inspector General of Police Abbas Byakagaba, and their deputies have more than doubled. Deputy IGP James Ochaya and Deputy CGP Samuel Akena will also receive Shs13.8 million per month, up from Shs6.7 million, while the IGP and CGP will each earn Shs15.4 million from Shs6.8m. The Assistant Inspector General of Police/Prisons (AIGP), the third-ranking official in both establishments, now receives a salary of Shs6.47 million per month instead…

Buganda Kingdom’s Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II won’t be returning to Uganda despite Namibia declining to extend his stay in the country. Kabaka, who has been receiving mental medical care in Namibia since April 2024, and had requested an extension of his visa, but the Namibian government turned this request down. This came after Pazzo became so much obsessed with fellow singer Irene Ntale and decided to throw musical lines for her, and ended up redoing Lubwama’s song and called it Irena Weee. KAMPALA: The National Unity Platform (NUP) has been denied permission to use Kololo Ceremonial Grounds in commemoration of the 4 years anniversary. A letter signed by Kallu Sam the permanent secretary of the Ministry of Defense and Veteran Affairs said that this request was not possible. According to this letter, NUP had sought permission to use the grounds on the 22nd of July to celebrate 4 years since the party was unveiled back in2020.
